Soldier, Civilian Killed in Hamas Attacks
An IDF soldier who was criticallywounded in a rocket attack Tuesday evening in the Eshkol region has died. He has been identified as 18-year-old Yosef Fartuk of Emanuel.
Fartuk was posthumously promoted from private to corporal.
Seven other soldiers were woundedby rockets Tuesday. Two were lightlywounded in the same blast in which Fartuk was killed.
Another five were hurt in a separate attack. On Tuesday morning a reservescommander was wounded in a separate attack in the Eshkol area.
Civilians have been wounded in rocket attacks in the cities of Ashdod, Ashkelon and Rishon L’Tzion.
